Breakfast at Forte Kitchen in Winchester

Winchester has some incredible breakfast spots, you’ve just got to know where to look.

Tucked down a lane, just off the high street is a wonderful place to fuel up for your day.

Take a look at Forte Kitchen in Winchester

Forte Kitchen is a favourite with local residents and I can see why, it’s chic interior and delicious food means it’s very popular so you’ll want to head there early!

Location

About half way down the high street is Parchment Street when Forte is located.

It has created a little map, which I’ve borrowed, that illustrates perfectly where it is and how to find it.

Inside

Gorgeous dark grey walls, big golden framed mirrors and hanging bulb lights give Forte that trendy London feel – perfect for the local commuter crowd who spend most of their week in the capital.

I’m totally in love with the high ceilings and fireplace, I can imagine it being someones very fancy living room in its days before commercial use.

Breakfast Menu

Forte has a lovely curated menu, there’s plenty to keep every member of your party happy including the vegans and vegetarians.

From classic English breakfasts, egg dishes, pancakes to a whole section dedicated to more healthy options like special fruity yogurts, porridges and avocado on toast.

I feel like the selection of dishes has been really well thought through with some of the dishes having little additions, elevating them and giving them a tasty twist.

I opted for Eggs Royale – poached eggs, smoked salmon, English muffin and hollandaise. Before avocado and eggs on toast was a thing, Eggs Royale has been my favourite go to breakfast dish for years.

It’s just the right amount of food so you feel full and tasty enough to leave you satisfied and ready to start your day.

Henry went for smoked streaky bacon and maple syrup Scotch pancakes. The smell, oh my, maple and crispy bacon is such a fantastic combination. The sweet and savoury mix obviously went down well as the plate was clean within minutes!

There’s also great coffee and a freshly prepared smoothies – when I went fresh berries were blended together to create a delicious dose of vitamin C.

Good Morning

With the beautiful aesthetic and scrummy food, this hidden gem is a jewel in Winchester’s crown. Having a few great places to eat in local cities is always good, especially when you have friends to stay or need a reliable recommendation – Forte is definitely on the recommendation list!

After trying breakfast I’m keen to head back for lunch or dinner, as they have an award winning menu with some delicious sounding choices.

Take a look at the menu for yourself and let me know if you decide to give Forte a try when you head to Winchester next.

I’m Bex

Welcome to Roam Hampshire!

It’s all change on this blog at the moment so sorry if it’s a bit hard to follow, I am working on it.

BUT…

If day trips and big eats are your thing, you’ve landed in the right place.

I’m Bex, I live in a beautiful county called Hampshire on the South Coast of the UK and I love living by the sea.

The county is famous for growing watercress, its maritime history and for being Jane Austen’s home among many other famous literary giants.

Take a look around to find top travel and food recommendations across the county.

Big Love,
Bex
