Bakery & Coffee Shop

The stores are effortlessly cool, classic Australian coffee shop influences with clean, strong branding. Black and white is punctuated by powerful pink highlights. Seating varies by store but it’s more of a pop in and pick up place for short stops.

While the bulk of the offering is a variety of bread, cakes and coffee, they also do a range of tasty sandwiches too.

Back at HQ, where they have the main bakery they also their own roast coffee too. Keep an eye out for black and pink bags on the shelves with caffeine and decaf options.

The teams are always warm and welcoming and different sweets and pastry specials swap in every few weeks so there’s something new to try.

Top Tip: Go early if you have your eye on something in particular, it is very popular and often the cake and pastry choices sell out fast.

Food Recommendations: The cruffins, a croissant style muffin, coated in cinnamon sugar with chewy caramelised based are the best. They are known as Morning Buns and sometimes have different flavours like lemon. I’d also recommend the chocolate chip cookies and croissants. Oh, and the sourdough – I could go on!

Sourdough & Pastries

I’m a regular stopping by each week for a sough dough loaf, doing my best to dodge whatever new pastry concoction has been dreamt up in the kitchen that week.

This local business originated in Southampton, Hampshire, and has now established itself across the South and is definitely worth a visit if you’ve not popped by yet.

Lots of love for Hoxton at the moment:
    – their mince pies were the best of Christmas 2022
    – the resurrected pecan/maple is a whole new level to what it was before
    – heard rumour that the morning bun is making a comeback!

Deffo worth it – the cookies are šŸ‘ŒšŸ» and I love a sourdough because they actually ferment it properly!

I’m Bex

Welcome to Roam Hampshire!

It’s all change on this blog at the moment so sorry if it’s a bit hard to follow, I am working on it.

BUT…

If day trips and big eats are your thing, you’ve landed in the right place.

I’m Bex, I live in a beautiful county called Hampshire on the South Coast of the UK and I love living by the sea.

The county is famous for growing watercress, its maritime history and for being Jane Austen’s home among many other famous literary giants.

Take a look around to find top travel and food recommendations across the county.

Big Love,
Bex
