Sergeants Yard, Bordon, Hampshire, GU35 0DJ

Opening times:
Monday – Wednesday: 9am-10pm
Thursday – Saturday: 9am-11pm
Sunday 10am-10pm

Well Hampshire, you’re in for a treat! The Shed is a beautifully constructed hanger like building with large bifold doors and small kiosk sized shop fronts lining the inside selling food, drinks and more.

All the vendors are independent and local and there’s also regular markets in the open square alongside the building.

It’s got a great atmosphere and definitely channels the more social areas of modern cities which have similar offerings like Bristol, Milton Keynes and Portsmouth’s Outside In Food Court. And, I just know you’re going to love it!

Prince Phillip Park New Town Centre

The concept of The Shed was born from the Prince Phillip Park regeneration project in Whitehill and Bordon. It’s aim is to elevate the local area combining the local military heritage and beautiful surrounding Hampshire countryside.

Promoting local independents in Hampshire is a total win by me! Not only is there this beautiful new food, drink and performance space but, more is on the way.

In addition to the new fitness centre, there’s a drive in cinema and art installation in the pipeline. This is along with other plans for more leisure and retail which is still to be revealed.

Food at The Shed

There’s already some great food and drink available at The Shed in Bordon, giving you plenty of choice when you visit.

I personally find this particularly useful if you have a group of friends that can never settle on a restaurant. At The Shed everyone can go and order whatever they fancy and you can still all eat together.

And the good news, all the units aren’t filled yet, so there’s plenty more on the way – including a micro-brewery!

We tried Hermanos Tacos, Crane Patisserie and had a delicious chocolate ice cream from Dylan’s Ice Cream.

The exquisite chocolates and macarons from Crane Patisserie were lovely over the weekend with a cup of tea. My favourite were the mint macarons and the cherry chocolates!

Mexican food is right up there at the top of my favourite foods but it was really tough to pick from the three current food vendors. Siam Oishi’s sushi is something I’m definitely going back for, as it looked incredible and it’s another of my favourite foods and Boigers too. Yes, I will slowly work my way through all the food offered there!

Hermanos Tacos

I want to try all the places but Hermanos Tacos was the first place I wanted to try, after months of stalking them on Instagram during the lockdown! They operate a highly successful taco truck around Hampshire and beyond, a particular favourite for local events. And now, they’ve got a second more rooted home at The Shed in Bordon.

Having not eaten, all day we ordered a feast and my goodness it lived up to the hype. I mean look at it, why yes it did taste as good as it looked!

Three incredible tacos, chipotle chicken, brisket with pineapple salsa and pulled pork tacos accompanied by rice and beans, chips and guacamole and citrus slaw.

Wow, those tacos, wow, wow, WOW! It was so tasty, and I will be going back for more Hermanos Tacos!

Shops at The Shed

It’s nice that in addition to the food vendors there’s a few shops to browse selling locally made goods or offering services. There’s also regular markets and a deli on the way too.

Entertainment at The Shed

In the middle of The Shed is a space that can be transformed into a performance space called The Cube. You’ll be able to watch comedy, live music, theatre events and other live performances.

The Shed at Bordon

The Shed at Bordon is a triumph and I’m very envious of all the local residents who have this wonderful new community hub on their doorstep.

I had a wonderful day with Mr Bright Lights Big City and I can’t wait to go back again to try more of the food and visit the various markets.

As someone who comes from Bordon. It’s refreshing to see the town finally get what it has always needed and deserved. It looks like such a positive thing for the area. Something that has been lacking for most of the last 30 years. I look forward to visiting it 🙂

Hi Dibble, Thanks for sharing, this isn’t the official page for The Shed, so you might want to provide this feedback directly to them so they’re able to take this onboard.

I’m Bex

Welcome to Roam Hampshire!

It’s all change on this blog at the moment so sorry if it’s a bit hard to follow, I am working on it.

BUT…

If day trips and big eats are your thing, you’ve landed in the right place.

I’m Bex, I live in a beautiful county called Hampshire on the South Coast of the UK and I love living by the sea.

The county is famous for growing watercress, its maritime history and for being Jane Austen’s home among many other famous literary giants.

Take a look around to find top travel and food recommendations across the county.

Big Love,
Bex
